Lovely house on Camano Island...

As I mentioned earlier, last week my cousin Lyle's wife, Lois, and I had a wonderful visit with my cousin, Kirsten, at her lovely home on Camano Island. She and her husband purchased the home a couple years ago and have done some significant upgrades and remodeling. Kirsten has a good eye for design and has incorporated many fun details in her home. Do you want to see it?

When you drive up, this is the lovely setting.

Opening the beautiful craftsman door with stained glass inserts, you step inside the entry.

Isn't that niche with the angel just lovely? Do you see all that beautiful, wide, painted woodwork? The woodwork was done by Trygve, Kirsten's talented brother, when they remodeled and reconfigured their entry. Kirsten is working on an upholstered bench cushion for the other side of the entry and finishing some painting.

Walking into the living area, their love of music is evident...

Across from the piano...

Entering the open concept living area...

They added all the woodwork and built in bookcases to flank the fireplace...

This painting was done by Kirsten years ago...yes, she is an artist, like several of our other Stenberg cousins.

The lovely dining area with a mixture of blue plates and blown glass ornaments hanging from the light fixture...love all the special touches!

The beautiful view from the dining/living room...

The outdoor sitting and eating area...love the red!

Moving into one of my favorite rooms in their home...the kitchen!

Love the beautiful cabinetry, the blue tile backsplash, and the charcoal grey stove top cabinet.

Love the black rustic granite countertops and black slate floor...

A little appetizer awaiting us...

Love the cabinet doors and glass doorknobs masking the refrigerator...

The kitchen breakfast room where we ate lunch...love the Gustavian style light fixture and built in cabinets and custom table... Isn't this a cozy space space?

Climbing the stairs, you enter an open loft space used as an office/den/TV area...

Book shelves and bench and woodwork and new light fixture were added...

 A lovely rug...

Unique light fixture...with a little bird perched on the edge...

Then, behind a painted wood screen, there was a special little gem of a room they finished for their granddaughter...

The hand carved wooden doll was done by Kirsten's dad for her years ago...what a treasure!

What child wouldn't love to hang out in this space....

A whimsical painting by Kirsten, inspired by a Norwegian card...

Not finding a light fixture she liked for this space, Kirsten created her own from blown glass hearts...so creative!

And going back downstairs, we entered the master bedroom and bath...sadly, I did not get a good photo of the master bedroom, but you can see the lovely rug and part of the bed here.

Outside the french doors, they enjoy morning coffee and the view here...

Moving on to the master bath...

The toilet is hidden and private behind the glass doors below...

And, she even created a little hidden vanity space inside the linen closet!

I hope you've enjoyed this tour of a beautiful home on Camano! It truly is so charming and well appointed...even better in person. Small custom touches gleaned from their travels are wonderfully incorporated tastefully throughout their home.  More importantly, you are so warmly welcomed from the minute you step inside. A line from the lyrics to Bless This House came to mind, "Bless this house, that it may prove, ever open to joy and love."

Thank you, Kirsten, for allowing me to share your home with my readers!
