Those summer days...

"End of the spring and here she comes back, Hi, Hi, Hi, Hi there, them summer days, those summer days..." Traditionally in the Puget Sound area, summer doesn't truly start until the 4th of July, but not this year. We had the hottest June on record, with many days in the 80's and 90's....yes, 90's! And for once, having nice weather on the 4th of July appeared to be a pretty sure thing, and it was...sunny, hot, with a little breeze. We even had mosquitoes come out at dusk...crazy!

I love summer. I love sunshine...just a summer girl at heart. There's nothing like waking up in the morning to a beautiful sunrise and sitting out on the deck with my first cup of coffee...watching the lake come to life. The fishing boats are out early...and then come the rowers...and the occasionally slalom skier zipping by. As I read the Word and a devotional book or two, my spirit is refreshed and I feel ready to face the day.

One of the first things on my summer daily agenda is watering the flowers and enjoying their beauty.

I love to bring out sea shells and starfish and place them throughout the house...reminding me of the beach.

I like to get my office work and house work done early, so I can enjoy the rest of the day and be ready to spend a little time at the lake with friends who come by...or getting out on the water with my kayak.

I like to drink a very cold Coke once in a while...oh, so good!

I love to eat corn on the cob and fresh, juicy watermelon.

I love fireworks on the 4th of July!

I love swimming in the lake...so refreshing!

I love eating meals al fresco...the food just seems to taste better!

And, my day often ends the way it began, on the deck....watching the sun set and the day come to a close.

How about you? What things do you love about your summer days?

Just to bring back those warm summer feelings, listen to this song...

Be back soon! Lovin' the sunshine, Gracia
