The Loft Cabin...is done!

After many days spent working away on the loft cabin (Hans Olaf Loft) in Plain over the past two years, we can finally say it is done! What a labor of love...lots and lots of labor...for my builder husband. He milled and planed and sanded and stained and finished almost every piece of  wood that was installed. The end result is a warm and comfortable place to get away!

Come on in...

The entry at the top of the stairs...

Looking down the hallway towards the bedrooms...

The dining area with the table my dad built many years ago...

The kitchen...the last thing to be completed!

The living area....

The view from the deck (this was taken before the top railing was in).

Don't you want to come for a visit to Plain? We would love to have you! Or, if you prefer to come by yourselves, you can look us up on Vacation rentals by owner (vrbo). This project has been a long one in coming to completion and it is good to see the fruit of my husband's labor, after several years of devastating loss during the recession. I hope he can take a little time to simply enjoy the time we spend there in Plain instead of working all the time!

I love the Message version of Psalm 55:..."Who will give me wings," I ask--"wings like a dove?" Get me out of here on dove wings; I want some peace and quiet. I want a walk in the country, I want a cabin in the woods. I'm desperate for a change from rage and stormy weather." What a great description of the need we all feel at times to just get away and be refreshed!

I'll be back soon with photos of the bedrooms and a few other details. Warmly, Gracia
