The Loft Cabin...Bedrooms and Bath

Don't you love waking up in the morning feeling refreshed from a good night of sleep? That is one of the things I love about spending time in Plain. The nights are so quiet and peaceful so a good night of sleep is a pretty safe bet.

When you design the interior of a lake or mountain home, you can have a little fun with the bedrooms! Our two bedrooms in the loft cabin each have a theme. Can you guess what they are? Bedroom 1 has a Ski theme and Bedroom 2 has a Fishing theme. We already had bed frames and mattresses from our former cabin so we didn't need to purchase any furniture. Brooks did make a great little nightstand for the Fishing room since it required a customized narrow one.

Bedroom 1: Ski Room

The transom window above the door, designed by Silvermoon Studios in Plain sets the mountain scene...

Ski room bed and walls...

Ski room walk in closet with live edge shelves...

Ski room coat rack...

The only thing we still need to do for the Ski room is make pine frames for two vintage Norwegian ski posters. Just what my husband loves...another project!

The Fish room is complete, with old fishing poles, creels, and reels that were gifts from my mother and father in law years ago. The mounted fish on the walls were all caught by my husband, mostly from our years living in Alaska.

Bedroom 2: Fish Room

More treasures from Alaska...all with an accompanying story, of course!

The bathroom is all finished as well, with the custom log vanity Brooks built. The bone drawer handles were crafted from antlers he had. He installed the tile flooring and tile shower too. I'm thankful he is such a talented craftsman.

To help ensure a good night of sleep, take a dip in the hot tub late in the evening...

If you need a little more help falling asleep, listen to this duet from the musical of Hansel and Gretel, "When At Night I Go To Sleep"....

The lyrics...

When at night I go to sleep
Fourteen angels watch do keep
Two my head are guarding
Two my feet are guiding
Two are on my right hand
Two are on my left hand
Two who warmly cover
Two who o'er me hover
Two to whom 'tis given
To guide my steps to Heaven.

We just had our first VRBO guests this past weekend. Thankfully, they were very pleased with our Hans Olaf Loft and enjoyed their stay. Come and enjoy sweet dreams in the loft! Warmly, Gracia
